Now That’s What I Call Stupid Vol. 1

You’ve all seen those commercials for “Now! That’s What I Call Music Vol. 3,407″ by now right?  It’s a dumb commercial, for a dumb CD that has songs that were cool 6 months ago and you can only seem to buy from the 1-800 number on the bottom of the screen.  I honestly think every song has been on these CD’s, if anyone can prove me wrong, please do.

That got me thinking, I should start my own compilation of things that I’ve heard or have done that are ridicuously stupid.  Two thing started this and I will get to them quickly.  The first thing is a conversation I over heard last week in the NH Fisher Cats clubhouse.  The conversation went like this:

Player A: If you could do either commercial which would you do, Valtrex or Viagara?

Player B: Viagara.  That little blue pill will give me a hard on for hours, what’s wrong with that?  I’d rather have erectile dysfunction then Herpes.

Player A: Yeah, you’re right.  Even though 3 days is better then 5, Viagara is less embarassing.

Anyone else baffled by this conversation?  To me it’s a no brainer, why even ask?  Who in their right mind would be in a commercial telling the world you have Herpes, but it’s ok because we can sit in individual tubs, watch the sunset and in 3 days my Herpes will be gone.

The second thing is a text message I received from a certain writer proclaiming that Dwight Howard is the best player in NBA history.  I understand he was lighting up your squad for another double-double and has the biggest shoulders in NBA history, but come on good sir.  There are tons of players I can name better then DH that have played in the NBA.  To name a few: Fred Hoiberg, Rony Seikaly, Vin Baker, Manute Bol, Wang Zhi-Zhi or Paul Shirley.  The fact that you would even mention DH ahead of any of those players is ludicrous.  Not to mention your blog about your burning desire to have Barry Bonds.  Oh how big a difference 7 months makes.

Now that’s what I call stupid.
